Below are the most recent examples of what I call the Calendar Card project, simply a means of keeping my creative juices flowing when the real work is either not there to be had or what there is isn't as fun as it should be, basically self-promotion pieces, postcard-sized cards that I print out and hand out to whomever might be interested, and I also create a small interactive pdf version (using InDesign) which I send over the e-waves to as many people I can think of. I try to do one each month, reserving the back of the card for whomever the birthday child might be. (In some cases, the back image came out better than the front, so I've included some of those here as well). I like to think this demonstrates several interests, probably most obviously illustration, also design and layout, my respect for the power of typography, and in the month of June my admiration for James Joyce, which also reflects my Irish background.
